Fascinated by the financial markets from the age of 12 which continued until Ed’s very last days. He started his career at Drexel Burnham and then Cowan & Co. and continued, ultimately forming the Herbst Group at Wellington Shields. He truly enjoyed and excelled at his career and many of the members of the Herbst Group were with Ed for more than thirty years.
Edward had a boundless enthusiasm for life. He was an avid collector with recognized collections of automobiles, books, and art. He truly enjoyed all aspects of the collection process.
Edward was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and business colleague and will be missed every day by so many.
