Eileen Carroll, beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 20, 2026, at the age of 65, following a brief illness.
Born on July 8th, 1960, and raised in Yorkville, she was a true New Yorker.
Above all else, Eileen loved her family. She found her greatest happiness simply being surrounded by the people she loved, especially her two sons, Matthew and Jonathan, who were the center of her world and her greatest pride.
Eileen was the cherished daughter of Jean and Bill Carroll. She was a loving sister to Nancy, Bill (Donna), and Michael (Nancy); a devoted aunt to Bill Jr., Craig, Michael, Brendan, Caroline, and Olivia; a caring mother-in-law to Ashley and Hannah; a beloved cousin, and a dear friend to many. She maintained a cherished friendship with her former husband and father of her sons, Jim Nix, as well as his family, whom she loved tremendously.
Eileen loved to laugh and when she did, it was truly infectious. She had a sense of humor that was legend. Eileen had a gift for bringing joy and warmth wherever she went. She had a kind and compassionate heart, one that extended not only to the people around her but to all living things including her beloved late cat, Tuck. Her kindness and selflessness knew no bounds. She would go to great lengths to help anyone, whether it was someone she knew her entire life or someone she had just met.
The beach was one of Eileen’s happiest places. Some of her fondest memories were spending time with her family and friends on the beaches of The Hamptons and along the Jersey Shore. Whether searching for shells along the shoreline or hunting for treasures at tag sales and flea markets, she always found beauty and value in things others had overlooked.
Eileen lived with a joyful spirit, a generous heart, and a deep love for her family. Though her time with us feels far too short, the memories she gave us and the sound of her laughter, sunny days by the ocean, and the countless other moments of love and togetherness will remain with us always.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eileen's name can be made to the ASPCA by visiting the link below.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
