Dear Enyi, I can hardly believe that it’s been 2 years since you passed.  I can only imagine how you’d be reacting to the situation we face in the living world, and I miss your colorful and inimitable expressions!  I hope your soul is at peace, my friend.

I wanna send my condolences to the family of Enyinnaya Okezie! I was a coworker of him at the Bank of NY when I first met him in '06! I have nothing but respect for that man ! He was a good guy with a positive attitude and he'll definitely be miss!

To the Okezie family, you have my deepest condolence's, I just found out about Enyinnaya, we use to work together at the Bank of NY I was his manager, Enyinnaya was full of knowledge, and he was always our go to person for any history or to just learn about the world.  I send Prayers and Blessings to each and every one of you and to hold on to God as you heal.

Eny, you are missed already!  Your knowledge of music and your ability to speak your mind was truly inspiring. Our friendship will always be treasured. 

Enyi was one of a kind. Brilliant, so incredibly knowledgeable of so many subjects, he was an excellent conversationalist. I miss our phone chats, and will always remember our friendship fondly. Rock on, my friend. 

Enyi was one of my patrons and friends when I began at The New York Public Library in 1994. His enthusiasm and unbridled lust for life were infectious. I cannot imagine a world without him. Love you my friend. 

Blessings to Enyi and his family🙏  He was a warm, loving, happy man with neverending music knowledge.  Also a wonderful, cheeky jokester! While we never met in person the NY Rocks FB page brought together many like minded music fans who became Friends. Enyi while gone, will never be forgotten... His 'lust for life' was unparalleled and I'm thankful for being lucky enough to have called him a friend....see you on the other side brother🤘🏻

Today we say 'Farewell' to  good man and a good friend. I am among the hundreds and hundreds of people whose lives were touched by knowing Enyi- even a little bit.
 
I will miss his sense of humour and his excellent taste in music, literature and art- which happily were so close to my own. Even a few days before his passing we shared a laugh and that is one of the best things we can give to each other as human beings.
To his family, I offer my deepest sympathies and condolences.

 Enyi touched many lives- all across the world. We are better for knowing him. 

Rest in Peace Cousin Enyinnaya. This is so sad, especially after seeing you so recently on Aunty's birthday call.

He had such a vast knowledge of rock n roll and the arts.  He knew things around his beloved New York that made his posts so interesting.  His pictures around town were so pretty even if some weren’t his.   He was respectful of everyone’s opinion and never felt that someone had upstaged him when they knew something that he didn’t.  He told them “thank you I did not know that”, and would rightfully give credit where credit was due.  He always said Merry Christmas personally to all his friends.  He made a point to.  Who does that?  ENYI always did.  He had a wild sense of humor and phrases that I will laugh at and use continuously  Now and Forever.   So RIP my dear friend.   You will be missed very much-Now and Forever man! 👍💖

From childhood friends in Queens, to when Enyi found me on Facebook years later.  He said he remembered me as my brothers' "cool older sister."  But hey Enyi...no-one was as cool as you.  I cannot believe you're gone, and that next month I won't have a birthday wish  from you, and at the turn of the year I won't have my greeting.  You were, typically, always the first to wish me well.  I only hope you knew how loved you were, and that this outpouring of love will give some comfort to your family, to whom I send my deepest condolences.  A unique human being, who will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched.  Rest well, dear man.  xxx

I will miss you, my friend. I’m grateful that you came into my life. We had some fun times together and great phone chats. Thanks for always indulging my musical playlists in your show-even before you knew me.

Enyi was a consistently uplifting and funny person, with an extraordinary knowledge of music. A frequent contributor to the Facebook page NY Rocks, Enyi always provided interesting and unique photos and takes on life in the Big Apple. Although I never met him in person, like many I considered him to be a personal friend-a very special human being. Always shooting you a holiday or birthday note, he let you know he was thinking about you. Such a sweet man, a devastating loss for all those that knew him. Rock on Enyi you have made an everlasting impression on all of us. 

Rest in Peace, Enyi! It was great to see and hear you after such a long time on July 9 at our family Zoom party, and such a shock to hear of your passing on July 21!

I will always remember Enyinnaya as a great guy who loved music, laughter and life. It was a pleasure and privilege to have known him. RIP Enyinnaya.

Enyi I am still in shock in hearing about your passing.   I remember playing wiffleball other sports with you when we were kids. I remember many times debating how well or bad the Mets were doing over the years. And like everyone else I will miss running into you  in Parkway Village and just catching up. May your memory forever be a blessing for your family.  My condolences to your whole family and all the other friends who will miss you dearly. 

I had the opportunity to meet Enyi when I was just 5 years old! He came to the UK in the early 70’s and spent time with my family. Enyi was full of energy and enthusiasm, and seemed very inquisitive but kind and generous in nature. It’s regrettable that I didn’t get to meet him again , but I’ll always remember his cheeky smile! May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Endy Okezie, son of the late Okoronkwo Okezie. 


Enyi was a unicorn, well, as rare as one.  He did not just know people, anyone who met him was immediately a friend.  We had tons of chats, about music mostly, and invariably he’d add something or have a new take on something that you heard thousands of time. Knew him too short,  will be in my heart forever.  Rest easy pal! 

I met Enyi through the radio station he and I were both DJ's at. 
He was such a genuine, kind and loving person.  His love for life is something I try to emulate. He exuded joy and it was contagious. As I type this I'm listening to some early Chicago as I remember him on occasion informing us all on his terrific show of just how great they were. The song is Make Me Smile because he always made me smile.
Enyi may you Rest In Peace.

I met Enyi in person in July 2015, while visiting my daughter in NYC.  My family met up with him at City Bakery, and we had a blast!  Enyi is so real and accessible—no pretense or shyness.  I admired his incredible knowledge of music history and, of course, his inimitable ways of expressing himself!  How does one cope with the loss of so magnetic a personality?  I’ll do my best to follow the example of  Enyi’s irreverent acceptance of life on life’s terms.  I hope his family and friends take comfort in his wonderful memory always.  I will not forget Enyi’s spark.

He was (and is) a big part of our rock radio station Mark Skin Radio, and not just as a great on-air personality, but with his tireless efforts to be supportive and informative.  Beyond that, he was a great friend to us all.  Our condolences go out to his family and to the thousands of people he touched with his wit and knowledge, around the world.

My deepest condolences to the family of Enyi Okezie.  I am a huge music nerd myself and spent many a times bantering with Enyi online about artists and albums and loved sharing our knowledge and opinions with him.  I did get to meet him briefly in person when I played Sidewalk Cafe four years ago, and he was a very nice, kind man to me.   All my love and thoughts during this difficult time.

I never got to meet Enyi but he and I were good facebook friends. Like me he had a passion for music and he was quite knowledgeable. 
His posts on facebook were quite unique and many were just plain funny. Great sense of humor. Me and many of his friends on the NY Rocks facebook group are shocked by his sudden passing. It'll be different without him posting. We'll all miss him. Rest In Peace, my friend. 

Enyi, I had a dream about you the day you passed. It reminded me of how much I missed being in your company and I tried calling. You never answered because you were on your way to heaven. I sure hope they have great tunes up there for you to enjoy. Thank you for the memories I shared with you, a very loved, special human being.
