On April 20th, 2020 God called his child Ernestine Rennie home to be with him in glory.
Ernestine Jenkins was born on February 20th, 1930 to Martha and Arthur Jenkins. She was the youngest of 5 children. Ernestine was reared in Harlem, New York where at a young age she gave her life to Christ and was baptized at the Mt. Paran Baptist Church in New York City. She continued to serve the Lord and subsequently joined the Cannan Baptist church where she was a member. She received her education within the NYC public school system.
"Lucky " as she was affectionately known married Irving Rennie, and to this union was born Rosalyn Rennie. Ernestine started working at a young age and built a strong work ethic working in various fields which allowed her to retire.
"Lucky" was full of life. She loved to sing and dance whenever there was music. The activities that she enjoyed the most were shopping, enjoying the outdoors, and eating her deserts. Although she had a long term illness she remained positive and humble. She never forgot to say thank you.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents Martha and Arthur Jenkins, her siblings Albert, William, Mary and Martha Jenkins as well as her husband Irving Rennie.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Rosalyn Rennie-Smith, gradaughter Lakia Forbes, three great grandchildren Tod, Jayden, and Janya Forbes, niece Alfreda Poinsette, her caretakers Nana, Yasmin,Yvonne, and a host of family and friends.
Ernestine touched many lives and will be missed dearly, but not forgotten.
