Ernestine or Ernie as I called her, was a woman filled with grace and fairness. Always willing to help without judgement of why anyone dared to ask for help. She was there for each person who needed her help; doing so with the care that was needed.

For me, a person who needed her assistance many times, I could always count on her. When I was in error, Ernie knew how to direct me to correction which in turn helped me to be a better worker. When it was done, it was without embarrassment, it was done with the firm voice, the promise that I would do better and make her proud.

Many times I witnessed Ernie give her staff the confidence when faced with difficulty. Most certainly she was an asset to organization that most certainly needed role models such as her.

To her family, I offer my condolences. To all who all mourn I offer my best wishes for healing.

911 was a better place with her in it. May she always be remembered for a blessing.

My memories of Ms Tuck go way back to when I was just a new 911 operator - and Ernestine was my supervisor - and became my friend and mentor - and I was able to confide in her my deepest secrets which did not go further - only a very few know of them - but anyway - when I became a supervisor we sometimes would get to see which one of us was able to be the first to log in a monitoring report - those were great days back then - also Ernestine was one of the prime people to set up my retirement party - which was fantastic. We attended may retirement parties - and Ernestine would have her single use camera that were very popular before the smart phone became common. Anyway, I am heartbroken - Ernestine was so kind and so easy to work with. She was a great friend. She will be very much missed.

It's hard for me to believe Ms. Tuck has passed almost 1 year to the date of the loss of my mother, her friend, her neighbor. Ms. Tuck was one of the nicest people I ever met and I grew up experiencing her kindness. She was good to our family and a very good friend to my mother. She did a great job raising her two children Donald and Lena. You will be missed Ms. Tuck..

I had just checked on acd with Mrs Tuck and sat down. I put in my address and saw that my house was on fire. I ran and told her then we went onto the platoon together. Mrs Jefferson and Mrs Julian-Smith was trying to give me a hard time but Mrs Tuck wasnt having it. She told me to just go and she handled my paperwork and those 2 platoon commanders. I never seen her so mad. That was the kind of supervisor she was. You give her no problems and she got your back. She was so sweet and fair and I loved her for that. There were so many other experiences we shared but that one stands out the most precious to me. She also taught me to do all those line dances and shuffles too lol. Sleep in peace lovely lady.

💐Oh, Ernie, I’m so sad hearing of your passing. You were the very first friend I met at Police Headquarters. We worked the Bronx, you helped train me, we enjoyed wonderful meals together and played bid whist and ping pong in the break room. You surely deserve a place among the angels. So long my friend 💞.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Tuck family.
