Dear Dorothy and Andrew and Family,

We are so sorry for your loss.  Your mother was an incredibly special woman in so many ways and her teachings and memories will stay with you forever.  She touched and influenced her family, and so many others as well. We are so glad that we had the opportunity to meet her and spend some time with all of you together.  You truly carry on her legacy and we know that she was so proud of all of you.

The funeral was very moving. Your eulogies were beautiful and we could all relate to the image of Esther you portrayed. We are sorry we cannot give you a hug from afar in this difficult moment but our hearts are with you.
We feel so lucky that we got to know Esther and to have so many good memories of the times we were together. She was extraordinary in so many ways.

The world is colder and darker now.. a tremendous life force is gone but will NEVER be forgotten. Esther’s enormous spirit, her love of family ,of Israel ,of Judaism , of art, beauty and of LIFE so clearly lives on in you and in all of those magnificent great grandchildren. Tananbaum family:  An incomparably beautiful matriarch, an example of courage beyond words, a sweet spirit that offered itself up to us whenever we were fortunate enough to be in Esther's company. She will be missed but never forgotten.

I LOVED HAVING ESTHER AT THE PESACH SEDER ! SHE INSPIRED ALL OF US AND ESPECIALLY ME. IT WAS HARD SOMETIMES TO KEEP GOING WHEN PEOPLE WANTED TO GET TO THE MEAL ! I LOOKED AT ESTHER AND THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT SHE HAD ENDURED TO KEEP THE CHAIN OF JEWISH CONTINUITY INTACT - IT IS BEYOND BELIEF ! HER STORIES BROUGHT US ALL TO TEARS. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER AND SHE WILL ALWAYS BE AN INSPIRATION TO ME AND ANYONE WHOSE LIFE SHE TOUCHED. SHE WAS AN ANGEL AND TZADEKKET ON THIS EARTH ! YOU ARE ALL BLESSED TO HAVE HER AS A MOTHER,GRANDMOTHER AND GREAT GRANDMOTHER.WE ARE ALL BLESSED TO HAVE KNOWN HER.
