We are devastated to announce the loss of our beautiful daughter Evie. She was deeply wanted, born into loving arms and was a blessing and a joy every single day of her pregnancy and life.
As her parents, we were privileged and lucky. She was beautiful and we were made more beautiful next to her. She was a thread that wove us closer together than we ever could have imagined.
One of the most difficult experiences was having to trust strangers with our newborn child. It was only made bearable through the compassion and dedication of a select group of nurses and doctors who loved Evie, who fought for her, and who laid their hands and hearts on her throughout her life, to the very end. The team and other parents at Mount Sinai NICU ended up becoming our beloved community, many we now count as dear friends.
Evie’s Mama, Aba, sister Aviya, and brother Leo will treasure the memories created with her and carry our love for her and the joy and love she reflected back at us with us forever. She has an adoring Safta, Vera Fomin, and her wonderful grandparents Rick and Christina Betzer. Her many adoring Aunts, Uncles, and cousins will remember her with love.
We are grateful for the love of friends and family and invite you to join us as we celebrate and honor Evie on Friday, May 31st and the Frank E. Campbell - The Funeral Chapel home from 11-2pm.
If you’d like, please bring a printed or handwritten favorite short poem, song lyric, excerpt or artwork to share.
Children are welcome and we will have a separate space with activities for them.
The parents request you refrain from using any of the following sentiments in your condolences:
“Now she isn’t suffering”
“She’ll be made perfect”
“It was meant to be”
“It’s better this way”
