Beloved husband, father, and grandfather Francis Beggi, aka "Joe", was born February 19, 1927 to William and Mary (nee Cervini) Beggi and was predeceased by his older brother, Joseph Beggi, whom he idolized and nicknamed himself "Lil Joe." He proudly hailed from the Yorkville section of Manhattan until his retirement to the Long Beach community. Francis passed away on June 19, 2025 surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Francis is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years Patricia (nee Carroll), three children, Barbara, Billy, and Jamie; son-in-laws Russell and Christopher and daughter-in-law Donna Walsh; six grandchildren: Robert, Jacqueline, Brenna, Kasey, Eric, and Paige. He will be fondly remembered as Uncle Joe to many, Poppa Joe to countless, and Joe Baseball to his teammates and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Visitation will be held at Frank E. Campbell - The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avenue New York, NY 10028, Friday June 27, 2025 from 2 - 8pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 28, 2025 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church, 230 East 90th Street New York, NY 10128 at 9:30am.
