Fred ............and Greg LeMond.
Two friends.
So many times we where together in the classics and grand tours.
So special was the day when he gived me his Mercedes 500 SEC to drive for one day in the Giro d'Italia.
The number plate was from New York.
He was sitting in the car of a director sportif to follow the stage.
We where very happy after the worlds in Altenrhein 1983.
Also on the Champs Elysees when Greg won with 8 secondes difference from Fignon.
And so many other days.....
Bye Fred,
Greets from Jos, Mol , Belgium

Ti abbiamo voluto tanto bene , ti ricorderemo sempre nelle nostre preghiere . Arrivederci zio Ferruccio in paradiso . I tuoi nipoti Silvio e Miranda e tua cognata Anna .

Fred's life was richly blessed, and he generously shared his good fortune with many in the grand family of cycling. His life long commitment places him among the builders and sustainers of the sport in the United States. Thank you Fred Mengoni, so well done!

A working stiff I was when I got out of bed at 4:30am to race in Central Park. The working stiff label went right out the window(riders to the line). Are you doing The Mengoni? Yes I will be there. Next thing I know I'm towing Jr riders to races in NYC. The trickle-down effect in full action mode. Thank you Fred Charlie Seward

Racing under Fred's sponsorship was an honor. Every time I wore his jersey I felt proud to be part of his team. He will truly be missed.

Your cycling mentorship so blessed my stage racing career with our wondrous and fun trip to Italy's "Settimane Bergamasce" - a 1.5 week stage race. You are forever cherished. Sincerely, Dale Stetina

Fred Mengoni was a true class act, an amazing human being. The most generous sponsor I ever had the privilege to know & race for. Tremendous memories racing with Steve Bauer, Harv Nitz & my brother Dale against the mighty 7-Eleven juggernaut. Fred made a real difference in so many lives, far beyond the cycling world. He will never be forgotten by those he helped.
