
Helen Erlich passed away peacefully in her home on December 6th, 2020. Helen was a beloved mother, sister, wife, grandmother, and great grandmother, a devoted friend and member of her community. Helen, a Holocaust survivor, was born as Brandla Edelstein in Poland in 1925. She married her beloved husband Murry (d. 2000) in 1945 and emigrated to New York in 1948. Helen had a real love of life. She was deeply devoted to her family and instilled that love of family, and a love of learning, in her daughters. A strong, independent, caring woman who will be sorely missed, Helen is survived by her daughters Senia Feiner (Mark Feiner), Shelley Holm (Paul Hammerschlag), grandchildren Jeremy Safron, Joshua Safran (Jess Camacho), Andrew Holm (Jaqueline Holm), and Elisabeth Holm (Dan Berger), and great grandchildren Gemma and Joseph Holm. Donations in her name can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and Park Avenue Synagogue. A private graveside funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 9th. Gathering for shiva will be postponed due to Covid-19. She will be in our hearts forever.
