Today marks a year since we lost Ricky. I can still hardly believe that she's gone. Though we lived hundreds of miles apart and saw each other only on the most special occasions, I so enjoyed our lively phone visits, chewing over theatrical productions, debating politics, and having many laughs. She was the last living link to my family's connection to Austria, and I miss that too. May she rest in peace.

I remember with fondness the summer visits our family had with my cousin Ricky and her parents in Ithaca and Lake Cayuga. In later years the pleasure of spending time with Ricky and Doug in “The City” or a family gathering was always punctuated by Ricky’s laugh, her genuineness, excerpts from her world travels, and her love for the theater and movies. No need to follow Roger Ebert as Ricky had long since reviewed the performance. She was loved by many and her loss creates a vacuum that will be hard to fill.

Our lovely cousin Ricky - I was in awe of her from the time I was little, when she asked me to be her "flower girl" in her wedding to Doug. Sophisticated, articulate and intelligent - but funny and fun, with a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh I'll always remember with love.

My cousin Ricky was a very special person -- vibrant, smart, funny, lover of art, music and theater, a world traveler. I admired her very much and am deeply saddened at her sudden passing. My husband and I express our deepest sympathy to her husband and their close friends.
