Born on June 19, 1936, in Hackettstown, New Jersey, Jim went on to travel the world and live a truly extraordinary life, making lifelong friends everywhere he went. His love of travel began in 1954 when he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1958, he started a career with American Express that lasted through the 1990s. Along the way, he lived and worked in Denver, Philadelphia, New York City, Tokyo, and, ultimately, Moscow, Russia—during the height of the Cold War, no less.
Jim's friends and family knew he could be feisty, but they also knew there was no one more loyal, funny, thoughtful, or loving. He had a way of making people laugh, standing by the people he cared about, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He will be deeply missed.
Safe travels, Kobersan
