It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanne Marie Spiess, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend on March 6th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and love. Jeanne Marie passed peacefully with her twin brother at her side.
Born in New York City on May 30, 1953, Jeanne Marie was one of seven children of Charles Joseph Spiess, Jr. and Virginia Larkin Spiess. She is survived by three brothers: Paul of Miami, Peter of Manhattan and Stephen of Middletown, NY. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Spiess III and sisters Roseanne Spiess-Giles and Lynne Spiess-Iaquinta. Jeanne Marie was raised in and continued to live in the parish of Saint John the Evangelist, in the East 50’s of Manhattan, until she became a resident in the Mary Manning Walsh Home in 2020.
Visitation will be held Sunday March 10th, 2024, from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home (352 East 87th Street, NY). Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday March 11th, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Joseph’s Church (404 East 87th Street, NY, NY 10128).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mary Manning Walsh Home (1339 York Avenue, NY, NY 10021) in remembrance of Jeanne Marie.
