
SCHLOSS--Jill Buttenwieser, age 55, died peacefully Tuesday morning surrounded by sixteen members of her family, following an unexplained cardiac arrest. Jill was a graduate of the Dalton School, Skidmore College, and the Columbia University School of Social Work. She worked as an educational consultant and was a member of the boards of Skidmore College and the 92nd Street Y. She is survived by her husband, Richard Schloss, her children Julia, Nicholas, and Samuel, her parents Ann and Lawrence Buttenwieser, her brothers William and Peter, her sister Carol Sharp, a slew of nieces and nephews and other relatives, and a bevy of friends. The family deeply appreciates all of the visits to her bedside and well wishes over the past week. Funeral Services will be held at Temple Emanu-El, Fifth Avenue and Sixty-Fifth Street, on Friday, September 16th, at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for contributions to the Whitney Museum of American Art, with the contributions directed towards education.
