I am sorry to learn of John's passing. I started my legal career at Geico back in 1982 and looked to John for help and guidance as he was even back then one of the "old veterans". He was a truly nice guy, a true professional. Please accept my condolences.

Thank you for making the month of August so special growing up. I will always remember you for your compassion, funny jokes, and your unconditional love for family. I hope you and dad are sitting at a bar having a drink or two,or sitting on a hill waiting to take a dip in a beautiful pool. You both deserve the best of everything,and I miss you both very much! Uncle John, I have nothing but good memories of the times we've been together. Growing up, I remember our summers at Lemko. Watching you punt a football farther than I thought possible, chinning myself on your arm (at least until I was 12 years old or so), and watching you and my dad swim laps in the pool after the sun got lower and the locals went home. The memories are clear - my dad and his belly swimming free-style, and your bald head and your belly doing the backstroke - both totally at peace. I have no doubt that you'd both out-swim anyone who cared to challenge. One thing that is fuzzy - is it true that you had a cigar in your mouth as you did the backstroke for 20 minutes? While the logistics of what you'd do with the ashes escape me, I choose to remember that you definitely did have a cigar in your mouth as you swam.

You always made me laugh. Rest in peace, Uncle John.

Dear Grandpa: Thank you for always being a kind, loving force in my life. I love all the memories I have with you growing up - sunday dinners, watching the Giants with you and Dad, Christy sandwiches on the big white couch, and the afternoons visiting you in the city the past few years. I miss you already, and always will. But my heart is glad knowing you are watching down on us from heaven. I am lucky that my dad has all the best of you in him, and that I had such a wonderful grandpa growing up - I am better for it. Love you always and forever.
