John was my roommate during our IBM basic class in 1979. I remember John liked Harvey's Bristol Milk Sherry. Yes, Milk, not Cream, I had never heard of that. We had a great group, and what a fun few months.
I kept in touch with John now and then, he was involved in some IBM City accounts that connected to machines we had in Sterling Forest.
I last spoke to John last June, just before I retired.
John was such a great guy. That saying holds true, Only the good die young.
John, I pray that God grants you a Fast Pass right up to Heaven.

I am utterly devastated by this news. John was a very dear friend. We have known each other for 30 years and used to hang out together in the No Name Pub on 88th and 2nd Avenue. This has hit me very hard and I am trying very hard to come to terms with this. My prayers go out to his brother and the rest of his family. Hope the beer is flowing freely in Heaven for you, John, and that Hotel California is playing on the jukebox. You were a great friend and I will miss seeing you.

Joseph we are so sorry to hear this news . It was always very clear that you and your brother were very close and he was very proud of your children. I remember summers at the beach in NJ as kids when your family would visit us ? Johny always made an effort to stay in touch after we moved to upstate NY and recent trips to CT and Rochester. He will be missed , our thoughts are with you.

John was a consummate professional (True Blue) who was loved by all he came into contact with. He was a genuinely nice person. You can't say that about everybody. Also, as he told me once, he would like to be the Captain of a Fishing Barge, preferably of his own, on the Hudson (John's Bait and Tackle). He is missed now and will be missed forever. Our condolences go out to his family and friends. God bless John Nevins II.
