John was a fun guy to be around.  He'll certainly be missed by many.  I think he had a lot more to contribute had he been given the chance.  I also think John would feel honored if we all gathered at a watering hole and hoisted a few in his honor.

I've known John since his college radio days at Pratt in the early 70s.  Always enjoyed his vivacity, his willingness to share what he found interesting, and his innately kind and generous heart.  We'd had a couple of nice NYC visits, even though I've been on the West Coast for decades, because, even though I am lazy, John has been the type of good guy and friend you'd always want to stay in touch with. Last time I saw him we strolled the Highline elevated park, had a great bistro lunch, stopped into one of his favorite pubs for some remarkable beer, and of course, had many great discussions!  He knew a little bit about everything it seems, and one just never knew what interesting stories and ideas would spark up when spending time with John.  It makes me so sad that we have to start missing him.  It is all too soon.  My condolences especially for his family, who I know he loved very much.

I loved John. He was funny and a great conversationalist. Id see him at city swiggers and we'd talk about everything. he was smart, funny and a wonderful person
