Anytime, I listen to his wonderful salsa music, it reminds me of my own relatives, specially uncle jose who passed away many years ago, but was an avid admirer and great dancer; but most importantly, Pacheco made us all proud of being Hispanic -specially those of us who are fortunate enough to be also called Dominican.
May God bless you and your wonderful family, always.
Thank you Dear God for Johnny Pacheco

Johnny Pacheco and Oscar de Leon
Came to Red Hook in the summer of 1987 to play on Van Brunt Street my home town It was a historic day for me , my family and friends as you heard Pacheco playing the flute as the sound echoes all the way to Coffey Park where the beat of conga drums playing was heard frequently from young drummers Pacheco’s music is everlasting in the life and spirit of all that live during his era
