Joseph Rocourt was born in Port au Prince Haiti.
He grew up in Haiti surrounded by beautiful mountains and the lush countryside. His mother Villia Cesar came to America in looking for a better life for him and his sisters. He was 8 years old when he arrived in America. He was a jovial, caring generous man who was full of life.
Last year, 2011, he was diagnosed with cancer.
Joseph was known best for his love of music and was an accomplished musician. His love and talent with music began as a young boy in Haiti. As he grew he continued his interest in music and as a young man began playing with various groups in various venues. Something he continued until his illness.
He is survived by his children Joseph, Nigel, Asheena, and Shaneqwa and his grandson Reuben.
His sisters- Frances, Linda, Lelar, Dinah, and Valencia and his brothers –Robert and Willy and his nieces and nephews- Robert, Mellissa, Nicole, Aaisha, Russo, Richard, Denzel and a host of cousins both here and abroad.
Dearest Joseph, you have gone home with the other kings and queens in our family. You will always be with us…..In our minds and especially in our hearts…we will always love you…...The Family.
