I met Joy through my friends, the Bakkers, and thankfully, came to know her as a most unique, lovely lady with a wonderful spirit and a keen sense of humor. Generous in giving her time and, when asked, thoughtful in her advise, she lived up to her name, as she was truly a joy to be with. I feel blessed that she was a presence in my life. Jean Tibbetts

Her mother named her Joy and indeed she was that. My mother and I met Joy many years ago while working in New York City. She always had a smile on her face when she came to visit us at work. I knew Joy for many years and she brought a shining light to us all. There was always a smile and a good laugh when she was around. I must admit that I was shocked to read about it in the papes today and I want to extend my sincerest condolence to Billie who she was so close to.
