My heartfelt prayers are with Kharael and his loving family as he transitions to the eternal world of God's love. I was his teacher at Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy for several years and he was quite an interesting, inquisitive, and caring young man. I remember in his Senior year,  he was interested in philosophy and religion and the students had an assignment to interview someone in a field they were interested in. I connected him with a dear friend, professor and pastor, Rev. Esteban Galvan. I remember his father brought him to the Bronx Holy Community center, and he interviewed Prof. Galvan for over two hours, asking him probing and deep questions. He really enjoyed the experience as did Prof. Galvan, who found him an impressive young man - I remember the assignments that he wrote.  He had a curious mind and always wanted to learn more.  Our entire class has fond memories of Kharael.  May his family find comfort and grace, and may Kharael's eternal memory give them strength and joy. I know how much he loved his family!

There are no words that can surmount the loss of a loved one, especially the loss of a child. That bond between a parent and a child is the strongest, shared with love, happiness, and memories. Losing someone we love is one of life’s greatest hardships, but the Bible offers a reassuring hope.
