It is with much love and sadness that we write to announce the passing of Lawrence Mantz, adoring husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle and friend.
Born on November 3, 1939 in Philadelphia to Jack and Rose Mantz, Larry was an extraordinary family man who never lost sight of the importance of connections, loyalty, devotion and celebration of the people he loved. He was passionate about the Phillies, a vodka gimlet and the perfect Belgian waffle with chocolate ice cream.
But truly, his real passion and number one priority was his unconditional support of his family: Arlene, his wife of 61 years, Jay and Scott, his two sons, whom he bragged about to anyone who would listen and his three grandchildren, Alexandra, Robert, and Eddie whose accomplishments he literally wore as a badge of honor at 3 Guys diner where he was often seen sporting his bright red Cornell grandparent garb.
We will miss “Pop Pop” beyond measure for his unconditional love. His eternal spot at the holiday table will never be filled, and his memory will always be our blessing.
