Lelia and I grew together in Bucharest. All the first cousins were close and we saw each other often even though she was 5 years older. We lost contact when we left Romania and renewed the contact some 12 years later, when I was a student at Colombia University in New York. Lelia , Adrian, his wife Maria and later on my wife Judy, became good friends. Even though we lived in Montreal, we met often and they visited us in Montreal several times.  On one occasion Lelia spent a few days painting outside our country house ; her painting  is on the wall of the house and is a memory of her many talents: talented engineer and artist.

As Adrian and Maria passed away and COVID hit, we had less personal contact with Lelia due to travel restrictions.

Judy and I visited Lelia at the beginning of June this year with Jerry Sitbon's guidance. We realize that it was a blessing to see her before her passing.

We offer our sincerest condolences to the remaining members of the family. As time passes the family is getting smaller. But, we will try to stay in touch as circumstances allow.
