It is with my sadness and regret we New Yorkers have lost a true New Yorker who happens to be the most loving, generous, brightest founder Lynn Brooks. I have truly have the pleasure of working with her during the early days of Big Apple Greeter. Other greeters as well, share this common boudn. As which, gain the experience of being a tourist in my home town with bright outlook and the love from food,  history, new places, different cultures, etc. The gaining popularity has reach across the globe and brings together a unity, human experiences in love and friendship. I'm saddened to hear this news. I started Shanghai Greeters just three months ago and hundreds of people have signed up as greeters ready to spread the love. I'm inspired by Lynn's spirit and I wish to keep it up and make it become our legacy.

Thank you very very much Lynn for bringing the greeter idea into the world. We will never forget you. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family members.

Lynn (as a person) and Big Apple Greeter (as an organization) inspired me to give back to the city I love in more ways than one.  They were the catalysts that gave me a purpose in life (I was a lost soul).  Lynn, you will be sorely missed.

As a Big Apple Greeter, I remember Lyn's enthusiasm so well. Being a Greeter has added so much joy & happiness to my life. My friends & family always ask me about my BAG volunteer work because they know it means so much to me. The greets I have taken out have been enriched by the organization that Lyn founded. May she rest in peace, but she will never, never be forgotten.

As a member of Lyn's world wide family, she will be sadly missed.    Our prayers go out to her immediate family.

It was such a privilege to meet Lynn and Stan in Brussels at the GGN meeting and have some time to speak with Lynn. Her vision for greeters grew into such a large network that has enabled so many people across the globe to meet. share and grow together. What a wonderful legacy to have founded such a beautiful and inspiritional way to foster better understanding and friendships around the world.

Lynn was an amazing woman who stood strong against all doubters about her desire to make NYC a better place for residents and visitors alike.

Lynn leaves behind a great legacy that hopefully will live on for centuries.  She is also responsible for bringing together a wonderful bunch of people who are as passionate about Big Apple Greeters as she was.  
 
I believe our spirits live on after we are gone and not only will Lynn live on in spirit but in our hearts as well.  My sincerest condolences to Lynn's loved ones and all those who knew her.

I knew Lynn  casually through Stan, a fellow member of the Inner Circle. Before our last performance in March I had the pleasure of sitting next to him at the cast dinner. He spoke of his pride in Lynn and her accomplishments as founder of Big Apple Greeter. My sympathies to Stan and her entire family.

Lynn was a beautiful lady! The day I met her at City Hall she had a ready smile and a warm greeting. It is without question that Big Apple Greeters was given life by a woman like her. I often felt I knew her more personally than I actually did during the time I worked with Stan at City Hall. His love for her... infectious. What a blessing she was! My deepest condolences to Stan and the rest of the family.

This was a really wonderful lady who left a beautiful legacy to NY and the rest of the world. Her inspiration will be remembered for a long, long time. I am so privileged to have met her and worked with her as a Big Apple Greeter, however briefly.

NYC has lost its greatest cheerleader. Lynn was one of our most beautiful citizens and will be missed in a profound way. She and Stan are on my Beautiful People wall at home. I never could get Lynn to sing at my parties, but I adored her regardless. We love you, Lynn!!!

NYC Service is stunned ans saddened by Lynn's passing.  I cannot even imagine how much greater a City we would be if every New Yorker found their passion and committed to it like Lynn.  Our thoughts are with her family and friends.

I did not know Lynn well, but it was always a pleasure to run into her (and Stan) at an event and catch up with them about the Big Apple Greeter program, their family gatherings, upcoming trips. She was a delightful, committed person and the world needs more, not fewer. She will be missed.

I am truly saddened by the news of Lynn's passing.  A wonderful lady who was always a pleasure to talk to. A gem.

I have been an active greeter since the inception of the program 21 years ago and have seen how Lynn dedicated her whole being in establishing and making Big Apple Greeter the success it has become. It was an honor and privilege many years ago to have her introduce me at a ceremony as a Greeter of the Year and a succinct pleasure to have sat next to her at her last public event at Yankee Stadium a few days before she passed away.

So sad to hear of Lynn's passing - I was one of the original Big Apple Greeters - what an outstanding contribution Lynn's life was to so many in New York City and around the world with this program!!
