Marie Levine (nee Weissman) died on July 26th from complications of old age. Born in 1942, she lived a full life; a happy childhood, a predictable adolescence, a fun early adulthood, a successful marriage (over 50 years), parenthood, (that lasted only a short 22 years) and a career that lasted well into her senior years.
Her middle age was marred by a great tragedy with the loss of her only child, Peter Adam Levine. She managed, despite life’s great challenges, to endure - to live with grace, humor and compassion.
She enjoyed every sunrise and sunset, relished her garden, was grateful for her Compassionate Friends and especially for her chosen family: Nancy, Neil, Jessie and Willie Breslau, Lisa, Tom, Travis, and Christian Cozine. Angela, who loves giant hostas, and Elaine, who came into her life as a nine-year-old neighbor and remained to become a surrogate daughter in Marie’s later years. Marie now rests in peace, with her two greatest loves, Phil and Peter Levine.
Marie is survived by her sister, Marge Shapiro.
A Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, 12 Market St, Saddle Brook, NJ 07663, US, on July 28, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
