
WEILL--Marie-Helene, (born Lausanne, October 20, 1920) died Tuesday, a week after celebrating her 95th birthday. She is survived by her loving daughters Claudia, Kathryn and Patricia, her adored grandchildren Emily and Alison Goldfrank, Sam and Eli Teller and their father, Walter S. Teller. Marie-Helene emigrated to the US in 1939 with her parents and graduated from Radcliffe College in 1941. In 1942, she married Guy Weill (died 2006), with whom she shared a passion for music and art. Inspired by her work as a docent at The China Institute, she became a lecturer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where in 2002, the Weills had a memorable show of their Chinese paintings, "The Cultivated Landscape." She and her husband were generous donors of art to the Arthur M. Sackler Museum at Harvard and Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian, the Brooklyn Museum, as well as patrons of the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, Asia Society and The China Institute. Her joyous passion for life and gift for friendship inspired all who met her. Service, Thursday, 11:30am at Frank E.
