Marilyn Galanter Lukashok died in her sleep at her home in New York City on July 12, 2021 at the age of 94. Born in New York City on February 19, 1927, she graduated from Julia Richmond High School and at the age of 16 entered the University of Michigan, where she received a BA.
She enjoyed a wonderful and long marriage to Martin Lukashok (d. 2005) who she met on a blind date. She is survived by her son, Bill Lukashok, her daughter-in-law Janet Pines and two grandchildren, David and Owen.
A lifelong New Yorker, she also was a part-time resident of East Hampton since the early 1950’s. She was a voracious reader, visiting the Jefferson Market Library several times a week, and an active supporter of Planned Parenthood New York, where she volunteered for many years, one of several organizations for whom she regularly volunteered.
