I had the good fortune to work with Marina for almost 20 years, where her dedication, work ethic, problem solving, leadership and empathy were exemplary and inspiring.  She had a profound impact on me, and so many others. Marina’s death fills me with immense sadness.  While I only worked with her for about a year in comparison to many of my JPM colleagues who worked with her for many years and in some cases several decades, I also noted the same attributes they have highlighted:  her love for her family, her intelligence, her dedication and work ethic, her persistence in helping others, and her willingness to tackle a problem, no matter how daunting.  Although many people have some of these attributes, it is highly unusual to find someone like Marina who has them all.  She will be greatly missed by all of us who had knew her.

Marina was a great colleague and tremendous mentor. My heart goes out to the Levin family during this difficult time. Your loved one's memory will be forever cherished.

Marina was truly an inspirational leader, who always made herself available to everyone . Her guidance and willingness to share her wisdom will have a lasting impact on me.

My condolences to the Levin family. While I have not seen Marina in several years, I remember her fondly as an unforgettable person. She had such a lively spirit. She was caring and thoughtful and so diligent in her work. She will be missed.

I was stunned when Marina's mother called me to tell me of Marina's unexpectant passing.  My whole family is grieving.

I first met Marina in "Leningrad" before the elections when I stayed with her mother and her in their home.  I loved them from the beginning.  Each time I returned to Russia, I stayed with them.  We invited Marina to come to the U.S.A. to study at Elgin Community College; and she received her Associate's degree two years later.  She became an important part of our family, and she was loved by teachers and students at ECC.  She received a scholarship to study a Bachelor's degree at Northern Illinois University, and she spent a lot more time with us.    Two years later, she continued studying and eventually working . We were all fortunate to have her with us for such a long time.

Every time I received a phone call from Marina or spent time with her and her family in New York and New Jersey, it was precious time.  My children, grandchildren, and I are grieving along with all of you.  Bless you all.  Treasure the time you had with Marina. We miss her; as a member of our family.  Love, Dorothy Wiese.

I worked with Marina for several years and will miss her terribly. She was so vibrant and so present in every interaction that I had with her. Her enthusiasm was infectious and her persistence in finding the right and best solution for any problem made her an amazing partner and wonderful leader.  She always made you feel like she was invested, that she didn’t want to be doing anything other than what she was doing with you. As a result, you never wanted to let her down and you felt compelled to give as much as she was giving. 

I recently came back from maternity leave so I hadn’t seen Marina for a while when I heard the news. She’s frozen in my mind the way she was the last time I spoke with her 5 months ago - on the zoom box, noodling over a problem, asking me lots of questions to help pull threads so she could pick her way, methodically, towards an outcome that would satisfy everyone, and so happy and pleased to be doing it, and then, as always, so gracious and appreciative of my help. I feel so fortunate to have worked with her and learned from her. My sincere condolences to her family on this heartbreaking loss. She was so lovely and made everyone around her the best version of themselves.

My heart  extends to the Levin family.  Marina was one of the most passionate and hard working women I know.  Her light shined both in the workplace and through those in her personal life and I am proud to have had the honor of calling her a friend.   Thank you for sharing her with our JPMorgan teams.  She made us all better and will be greatly missed.

Our professional and personal lives rarely cross so I hope Marina’s family knows what a rare and wonderful person she was in her professional life. 

I knew Marina for 25 years and she was one of the finest people I ever met - incredibly hardworking, diligent and smart. But beyond that she was also incredibly honest, fair, kind and caring.  A rare and  wonderful person indeed.  

I am heartbroken.

Marina was the sun in our lives, both personally and professionally.  She inspired us all with her seemingly endless energy, a positive spirit that always shone brightly, and above all, a warmth that was invariably welcoming and sincere. All of us who knew her have been blessed by her light and we will carry it forward in our fond memories of her.

Marina was an exceptional leader who cared deeply about her employees. During a specific one-on-one where I opened up to her she gave me advice that has become so foundational to my mindset through to this day. 

Marina said that I should use my career, and the benefits it provides, as the instrument that allows me to pursue those interests that will give me fulfillment in life: become a tutor, donate to non-profits, provide for your wife and kids a better future, travel the world, etc. 

I reflect now on her life and how her advice to me was a reflection of the same convictions she held for herself. 

Marina, I'm eternally grateful for the imprint you've left in my life and others.
