Born in New York on December 1, 1949 to George and Ruth Lansky.
Mark was a man of great depth, a gentle soul with a brilliant mind, a quiet presence who carried immense strength. A graduate of Post University, Long Island, New York he built a life filled with purpose, intellect, and deep love for his family.
Mark’s professional life was as diverse as it was impressive. He served in many roles; investment advisor, mediator, trustee, administrator, and lobbyist, working across the US, Europe, and Asia.
He worked with both the public and private sectors, always prioritizing people, relationships, and the greater good. Despite his constant travels between New York, Florida, and California, he traveled frequently to be wherever he was needed most. It was Mark’s ability to make those around him feel seen and heard that truly set him apart. But no matter how far he traveled, his heart was always with his family.
His warmth, generosity, and unconditional support were gifts to everyone fortunate enough to know him, whether as a colleague, a friend, or a loved one.
Mark’s legacy is not only in the successful projects he helped bring to life, but in the lasting connections he forged with people around the world. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, humility, and unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, the love of his life and his truest partner, his loving devoted daughters Margo and Allison, son-in-law Kenny, and his treasured grandson Gavin.
Those who knew Mark will remember him not just for his accomplishments, but for his warmth, his deep sense of justice, his love of music, film and literature, and the quiet way he made people feel seen, valued, and safe. His wisdom was a guiding light, and his kindness left an imprint on everyone he met.
A funeral service will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel on Sunday, June 15, at 11 AM followed by interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America in Mark’s memory — a cause close to his and his family’s heart.
