Martin Charnin took a chance casting me in Upstairs At O'Neals. I'll never forget the experience. He was such fun to work with. I will always remember him fondly. RIP Mr. C.

Dear Sasha, Randy and Shelly,
My deepest sympathies to you and the family in the loss of your beloved Martin. He impacted so many of us in the theatrical community with his love and support. I had the privilege to work with him on the Harve Presnell ANNIE tour and we all absolutely adored him! He shared not only his brilliant artistry with us, but his complete zest for life! He will be terribly missed. I hope the love expressed by his community of thespians, and world-wide fans, will help to lift you up in this time of sorrow. With my most sincere condolences, Katharine Buffaloe Harris

Martin was a gifted individual . The obituaries and articles about him are fascinating . Prayers for his family. Reid Shelton and Dorothy London no doubt are having conversations with him about the theater past and present.

In July 25, 1979 my life in New York took a turn for the better. Martin cast me as Grace and off I went on a national tour. He was scrupulous about his play and directed the piece like a song. I have always admired his ability to create new projects. My ANNIE family still sustains me. I am grateful for the time we spent in this orbit.

Oscar and I were deeply saddened by the passing of Martin. Oscar valued his friendship and often enjoyed not only working at the house, but the conversations they used to have. He will be missed.
