Mary Ann Daly, a lifelong resident of New York City, passed away on February 10, 2026, in New York, NY. She was 74.
Born on April 22, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY, Mary Ann grew up with a deep faith and a love for her city that shaped her life, career, and many friendships. She was a proud graduate of Marymount Manhattan College and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Public Administration from New York University.
Mary Ann began her professional career at the New York City District Attorney’s Office before continuing her commitment to justice and community at the New York Legal Aid Society. She later spent more than twenty years at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where she was respected for her integrity, professionalism, and steadfast work ethic.
A woman of cultural pride and intellectual curiosity, Mary Ann was an active and devoted supporter of the American Irish Teachers’ Association, the American Irish Historical Society, Ireland House, America Society, the New York Metropolitan, and The Frick Collection.
Mary Ann delighted in exploring New York’s diverse restaurants with her cherished friends. She also found great joy in attending events at the New York Public Library and was a familiar presence at lectures, exhibitions, and performances throughout the city she adored.
She has joined her beloved parents, Lawrence J. and Marie B. Daly (Douglaston, NY), and her brother, Peter J. Daly (Basking Ridge, NJ) in Our Father’s Holy Kingdom.
Mary Ann is survived by her brothers: Lawrence J. and his wife, Laura, of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; Thomas and his wife, Elizabeth, of Orlando, Florida; Brian J. and his wife, Erin, of Fairfield, Connecticut; and James C. and his wife, Janis, of Barnstable, Massachusetts; as well as her sister-in-law, Catherine Daly of Basking Ridge, New Jersey. She also leaves behind twelve nieces and nephews and nine grandnieces and grandnephews.
Mary Ann’s life was defined by loyalty to her family, friends, faith, and heritage. Her family would like to thank the dedicated team of medical professionals at Columbia Presbyterian for their care of Mary Ann over many years. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in Mary Ann’s memory to the Marymount Manhattan General Scholarship Fund
