Millbrook July 4, 2015. The life of the party!

I am so very sorry for the loss of Millie. She and I were close colleagues and friends for many years at CCNY! We had a long  history of  working together and supporting each other through our similar programs, she in Science through CCAPP and myself in  Engineering through PRES to support and increase the graduation rate of largely underrepresented minority undergraduate students. 
We also had frequent dinners dates  and  enjoyed going to many ballet performances. 
I relocated  in 2015 and we kept in touch especially, during holidays. The last time I spoke with her was in February 2025 and we  promised that we would meet up in the City this past summer for dinner, etc. 
I will always hold her close to my heart and never forget my fond memories of us!
I so enjoyed her service today and as was noted, she truly was a “Queen”.

My deepest and warmest  condolences on the passing of Millie. I personally want to say thank you for lighting the pathway for our colleagues and other leaders in our Bronx Manhattan Region and the entire STEP & CSTEP network. I am personally grateful to follow in her footsteps as Regional Representative and for the legacy she has left us to continue on. We will make you proud! 🕊️

She was always a hoot on the dance floor and Randy's best dance partner at the APACS conferences.

Millie was a great friend of ours for the last 25 years.  A true New Yorker with such a youthful, positive and engaging personality.   We always enjoyed getting together for dinner and great spirited conversations on a wide range of issues.   She will be in our hearts and thoughts forever.

She was our neighbor at Wethersfield, she was a great neighbor. We miss her and silk rest in peace.

Dr. Roth's example of leadership, advocacy, impeccable service, tireless support and uncompromising professional excellence will live on through all the thousands and thousands she impacted.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of the magical being that was Dr. Millie Roth. From the very beginning of joining the CSTEP family, Millie welcomed me in with open arms. She encouraged me to keep pushing forward and never hesitated to offer her wisdom, guidance, and reassurance. Millie had a rare way of making me and others feel seen and valued exactly as we are. She was always sweet, endearing, and deeply genuine. 

Her beautiful personality and bright energy will forever live in my heart, though she will be deeply missed in the spaces we once shared. Her legacy continues to inspire and motivate me to carry forward the work she did so effortlessly, ensuring that her spirit lives on in all we do.

Deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Millie Roth. Millie was a steadfast advocate for both students and staff, and her commitment to access, equity, and opportunity via CSTEP was evident in everything she did. Her impact is felt far beyond our programs, and her legacy lives on in the lives she supported and uplifted. It was such a privilege to know, learn from, and work with Millie. My heartfelt condolences to her loved ones, and all who had the privilege of working alongside her.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Millie, a true pioneer, leader, and mentor. She shaped the field of higher education through her unwavering commitment to equity, access, and the success of low-income students—long before this work was widely recognized or valued. Her impact on CSTEP, and on so many of us within the CSTEP family, is immeasurable.

Millie was a fierce advocate and an extraordinary leader, yet she always led with kindness, generosity, and a sharp, witty sense of humor that made even the hardest moments feel lighter. When I joined the CSTEP family, she never hesitated to mentor me, share her wisdom, and encourage me to lead boldly. She carried a depth of knowledge that she shared freely, and she never wavered—never believing her work was done as long as students still needed champions.

Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the leaders she mentored, and the pathways she helped create for generations of students. Millie will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

My deepest condolences to the family of Millie Roth. I met Millie as a PhD student at CCNY in the early 90s. I met her again as I became part of the C/STEP community as a faculty member at SUNY Old Westbury. She has been a steady supporter for students and a force for change. She will be great missed.

My heartfelt condolences for the passing of your dear mother/grandmother.

She has always been a loving and caring advisor for any issue with the students in my classes, and resolved them quickly.  They have all been so encouraged by the swift resolution of their problems.

In pre-pandemic days, she would greet all of us with a hearty smile even as she is hurrying to the Admin Bldg for some policy meeting.

May she rest in peace and may you be blessed in treasuring your memories of her in your lives.
