Born in Brooklyn, with a family lineage connected to early New York settlers and the abolitionist leader Lucretia Mott, Patricia lived with a deep sense that humanity was on the threshold of a new stage of consciousness.
Her life was that of a modern mystic—grounded, direct, and devoted to what she recognized as an emerging possibility for human evolution.
She began teaching at 18 as part of the early personal transformation movement, working with Werner Erhard as one of the early teachers of est. This early immersion shaped her lifelong commitment to transformation, while also revealing the limitations of approaches centered on the individual.
In the 1980s, Patricia experienced a sustained awakening that led to a shared realization with her beloved partner, Peter. This awakening revealed a new dimension of consciousness and an extraordinary possibility for humanity’s future. Her work opened a palpable field of shared consciousness and love, revealing previously unimagined human potentials beyond the limits of personal growth or self-development.
In 2007, she founded the Evolutionary Collective, which has grown into an international community devoted to stabilizing and living inside this shared unity. Through courses, retreats, and a global practice community, thousands have engaged in what became her life’s work.
Her book, Evolutionary Relationships, published in 2017, distilled decades of teaching into a practical framework for entering this new potential for human evolution.
Patricia pointed beyond traditional models of personal growth and enlightenment, articulating a future in which human beings participate in a unified field. Her work has been recognized as a pioneering contribution to humanity's evolution.
She is survived by her son, Alex; her brother, Jay; and a global community of students, teachers, and practitioners who continue to live and carry forward what she made possible.
A celebration of Patricia’s life will be held on Friday, May 8, at Riverside Memorial Chapel in New York City at 1 pm ET.
To honor Patricia, flowers are welcome. Donations may also be made to the Evolutionary Collective’s Gateway Fund, which supports broader participation in her work.
Patricia’s legacy lives not only in what she taught, but in the reality she revealed—one that continues through those who step into it.
As she said:
“This is not about me. It is about what becomes possible between us.”
