I am sorry that I am just now reading this... The Livingston's were 2 of my parents best friends.  My childhood is filled with memories of them.  Love to you and may you Rest In Peace .  Love, Amanda (Heneghan)

Its is with great sadness I hear belatedly of Dr. Livingston's passing.  I was one of her last Doctorate Students,even though I never completed my dissertation despite her wonderful guidance.  She always had time to spend with me and was very instrumental in my transition into private forensic rehabilitation.  She was a pioneer in the field of Rehabilitation and mention of her name automatically opened the door to me being approved as a Vocational Expert by Louis Zinn of the Social Security Administration.  I will never forget her guidance over my 43 year career.

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Livingston in person but she has had a tremendous impact on my life. I was the last graduate from the Rehabilitation Counseling Program at NYU where Dr. Livingston left a wonderful legacy. It was because of her generosity that I was able to obtain my Ph.D. from NYU. Dr. Livingston's monetary awards helped me when there was no other financial funding offered. I will be forever grateful for her kindness.

I met Dr. Livingston in September 1976 when I entered NYU School of Nursing and Arts Professions to pursue my MA in Rehabilitation Counseling. It was an invaluable experience and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Livingston for her guidance and support. Sorry to have heard of her passing. She will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

I served as Pat's unofficial secretary for over a decade, assisting her with typing up the countless letters she wrote to senators and assembly members to pass a rehabilitation licensure bill.  She was incredibly kind, warm, and generous, with a great sense of humor.  She was passionate about her work, as well as art and animals, two things we both loved.  She will be deeply missed.

Warmest sympathy for Dr. Livingston's  family and friends. Patricia Livingston was a giant in promoting and advocating for the vocational rehabilitation field. We all in voc. rehab owe her for paving the way for the future. Dr. Patricia Livingston was a pioneer in the Rehabilitation Counseling field.  She touched the lives of many and shaped the careers of countless Rehabilitation Counselors. She leaves behind an amazing legacy of advocacy, service and life learning.  I will miss her sharp wit and  infectious  laugh. I am grateful to have known her.

We were so fortunate to have spent some time with you (and Uncle Art) on our last trip to NY.  You are an amazing and honorable person.  An aunt who never forgets to send a card for all occassions.  You always had a smile on your face and love in your heart.  You will truly be missed and remembered.  We love you -

Dear Livingston family and friends,

My acquaintance and work with Pat spans three decades, from her time as Director of the very prestigious NYU counselor education program through her tireless participation as a member of the Metropolitan New York Chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA).  Each meeting was a gift and a learning experience for me and I thoroughly enjoyed verbally jousting with her on critical topics of the day related to our field of rehabilitation.  She was always polite, well-spoken and clearly made cogent arguments to support her position, which inevitably won me and other board members over.  Pat has been the consummate mentor, leader, advocate for persons with disabilities and rehabilitation counselors, colleague, friend, and board member.  She will be missed and her legacy will be picked up by hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals she has helped along the way.  Thank you for sharing her with us.  My sincere condolences, Tony

Dr. Patricia Livingston was more than a friend and colleague, she was a legend in the rehabilitation profession and will be truly missed for all of her work in advocating for individuals with disabilities.

Dr. Livingston was a pioneer in our field.  I had the privilege of working with her on the licensure committee of the NY National Rehabilitation Counseling Association. Her remarkable work and decades of dedication moved this effort closer to success of getting all Rehabilitation Counselors in NY State licensed. She has been a mentor, a colleague and a friend to me and so many of us. She will truly be missed.

I enjoyed first learning from you and then working with you in vocational rehabilitation. I used the early learning in graduate school throughout my career and it has served me very well. I admired you greatly.  May you rest in peace.
