It is so late for a memory.  Just this morning I wanted to talk w ith jim about a patient.  It will have to wait till we meet in the next world!!!  RIP Paul. I miss you

I just learned of Dr Perry’s passing. I believe I speak for many whose path he crossed at Bellevue Hospital. He was inspirational to his colleagues and those he was training … his lessons ,values impacted many professionally and personally. The Bellevue experience stays with one “ forever” and for many of us it was Dr Perry who inspired us on our future paths. And most important , Dr Perry could communicate with a most challenged youth at Bellevue and bring them some a light of hope.

Wonderful man..wonderful doctor..I worked with him for many years..We had many laughs and he was always there if you needed to talk seriously ..He had total compassion and empathy for his patients..and was a good friend.

I worked with Dr. Perry for many years at Lenox Hill Hospital..He also called me at home just as a friend to see how I  was doing when my parents died 4 months apart..I will never forget that… He was a sweetheart...He was the epitome of  a caring Doctor and  wonderful human being  

Dr. Paul Perry was my Psychiatrist or 2 weeks during my stay at Lenox Hill Hospital Psych. During my stay Dr. Perry met with me everyday fir 2 weeks up until my discharge. He was a gentle soul, brilliant,  genuinelly compassionate, skilled doctor. I was struggling with suicide and it was the time he spent listening to me, sharing his insight that got me through that hospital stay. I'll never forget the day I was discharged he walked me downstairs and outside up to the block where I was going to take the 6 train home. He waved and I thanked him. He made such an impact in my life. Such that when he told me he was retiring due to some health issues, I felt the need to offer to take care of him. Of course it would have been inappropriate due to the nature of our brief relationship. Throughout the years I've thought of him a lot. I wished him well from afar. So it was so sad that when I looked him up, I see he has passed. I wished I had been able to see him before he passed. He was a gem.

Sending deepest sympathy in memory of my dear colleague, Paul Perry.  It was lovely to hear from his beloved children at the service, filling out memories of your dad.  I knew Paul in his work as a consult-liaison psychiatrist at Lenox Hill Hospital.  We worked together on complex patient situations. He was serious and focused of course, but despite his outwardly quiet demeanor he was warm, supportive and truly funny. I smile thinking of him.  I left LHH several years ago but thought of him often since. May his memory comfort you at this difficult time.

Deepest sympathies. It was my privelege to have worked with him on night call at MPC. He was knowledgeable and always on the button in a sincere and benevolent  and kind manner. 
My internship had been at Lenox Hill Hospital in 1971 only in Internal Medicine then.  So I never worked with him then . He will be sorely missed.

I am truly saddened to learn of Paul's passing. 
We first met as interns at Bellevue in 1971 & attended the projection of third Ali-Frazer fight, The Thrilla in Manila, together at Madison Square Garden.  Our very different backgrounds always made conversation interesting - he often brought a very different perspective to issues than most of his colleagues.
In the early 1980's I tried to have Paul join me in working at Saint Joseph's Medical Center but was both understood and was disappointed that he just couldn't separate from the excitement of Bellevue at that time.
We remained intermittently in touch throughout the years and last spoke about a year ago. Unfortunately Covid related concerns kept us from getting together which I now regret.
Rest in piece, friend.
