Peter L. Costiglio

Peter Costiglio, age 76, of New York, NY passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025 after a years-long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Born in Manhattan, NY in September 1948, Peter was a devoted husband to Barbara for 54 years and a loving father and grandfather to his three children and nine grandchildren.

Peter was known to family, friends and colleagues for his sense of humor, infectious laugh, selfless nature and warm compassion. He most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially joking around with the grandkids. Some of his favorite pastimes were long days on the beach in Point Lookout, NY, endless consumption of books and newspapers, and rooting for the New York Jets.

He served as a communications executive for 40 years across the media, financial services and defense sectors. Peter held senior roles at a range of industry leading companies including Time Inc., Prudential-Bache Securities and Northrop Grumman. In addition to his own career achievements, Peter mentored an upcoming generation of communications professionals.

Peter was a proud and passionate supporter of Catholic education, especially the Jesuits and his beloved alma maters: College of the Holy Cross, Xavier High School and St. Ignatius Loyola.

He is survived by Barbara, his loving wife of more than 50 years; his siblings, Eugene Costiglio and Teresa (Costiglio) Cantwell; his children, Paul, Mark and Beth and their spouses, Bridget, Jaime and Pete; his grandchildren: Grace, Ava, Molly, Emma, Jack, Andrew, Lily, Matthew and Meg.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21 from 2pm until 8pm at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel located at 1076 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10028.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, March 22 at 10:30am at Church of St. Ignatius Loyola located at 980 Park Ave, New York, NY.
