SOM--Dr. Peter, passed away on September 19, 2022. He is survived by his beloved wife Judith of 44 years, devoted daughter Jamie Calabro (husband Peter Calabro), and adored grandsons Ethan Linden and Oliver Lindenbaum. Dr. Som attended NYU Medical School and went on to complete his internship and residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was a professor of Radiology and Otolaryngology. Dr. Som loved teaching and was an exceptional educator, co-authoring six volumes and hundreds of scientific papers. Throughout his distinguished career, he received many awards and accolades. He was instrumental in the growth of the American Society of Head and Neck Radiology, of which he was a past President. His philanthropic interests included St. Jude's Hospital, the Central Park Conservancy, the American Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the New York Philharmonic. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the above referenced organizations or charities.
