Phyllis L. Kossoff, Great-grandmother, grandmother, mother, mother-in- law, and aunt, has made her final journey to the awaiting embraces of her beloved daughter Stephanie; husband Buddy; cherished mother; father; sister; brother and countless other family members and friends. Their gain is a loss for all of us and for those she touched with her fierce dedication and matching eloquence in her successful fight to lengthen the lives of children suffering from Cystic Fibrosis worldwide. During her 96 years, Phyllis's pioneering fundraising efforts in the field of Cystic Fibrosis were recognized by many and among her awards were the Hunter College Woman of the Year Award presented by the Executive Council of Delta Phi Epsilon and the Spirit of American Award at the Cystic Fibrosis Volunteer Leadership Conference 2016. Despite these recognitions and the accolades she continually received, Phyllis Kossoff always gave more than she got and during her lifetime also funded and established: The ground-breaking Stephanie Lynn Kossoff Cystic Fibrosis Lectureship Columbia Presbyterian; The Burton Kossoff Baruch College Business Lectureship; The Phyllis Kossoff Hunter College/Roosevelt House Lectureship Series; and The Phyllis Kossoff Columbia University Teachers College Lectureship. Phyllis Kossoff's departure leaves a hole in our collective humanity which we must now attempt to fill as we are urged on by her words and deeds and guided by the lessons of love, tolerance, dedication and generosity which she taught. We will miss and remember you always - Mitch, Pam, Alec, Noah, Jeremy, Josh, Lisa & Gabby. Donations to any of the lectureships as detailed above.
