
84, passed away August 19, 2018 in Manhattan. "Dick" as he was affectionately called by everyone, was born September 26, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Rochester, New York. Dick maintained homes in Manhattan and Water Mill, NY with his wife, Lisa. He was a successful executive, athlete, sports enthusiast, avid traveler, animal lover, compassionate and kind human being. He was a gentleman and was loved by all who knew him. Dick graduated from Syracuse University in 1955 and served in the Strategic Air Command of the US Air Force as First Lieutenant, Navigator Bombadier. Early in his professional career, he worked at Compton Advertising, then at D'Arcy Advertising as a media planner/buyer. He continued his media career in sales management at Petry Television. He was a founding partner of Telerep, a premier national television sales rep firm. Thereafter, Dick held executive roles at MMT and Katz Television. He was also central to the creation of Entertainment Tonight, Star Search, and Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Loving husband of Lisa Brown for 37 years, Dick is also survived by his brother-in-law, Richard Yacenda, his devoted niece, Tilly and nephew, Layne, and his adoring godchildren, Hunter and Grayson Kaplan. A private service will be held at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel at 1076 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10028 at 11:30am Wednesday, August 22nd.
