Robert E. Kerson, a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and leader, passed away on March 2, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and dedication to his family, career, and community.
Bob spent his retail career at Bloomingdales, Macy's, and other retail establishments. His talent for organizational development and entrepreneurial skills led him to executive search, and he eventually co-founded Levy-Kerson Partners Executive Search. In 1999, the firm was acquired by Korn Ferry International, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey.
Beyond his career, Bob was deeply committed to service and mentorship. He served on the advisory boards of the Jay H. Baker Retailing Initiative at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Westchester County, New York Presbyterian Hospital, and the Jericho Project-an organization dedicated to assisting the homeless with housing, job placement, and support services - with a particular interest in their Veterans Initiative. He was an enthusiastic mentor for all, from young people starting their careers to military veterans.
Robert was a devoted sports fan, particularly of the Brooklyn Dodgers, and an avid collector of sports memorabilia. He found great joy in watching baseball, basketball, and football, especially with those who shared his enthusiasm. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Mickie Kramer Kerson; his children, Christopher Buckley Kerson, Lisa Kerson Frohlich, and Mark G. Kerson; and his adored grandchildren, Alex James Frohlich, Mia Buckley Frohlich, and Emma Seyoung Elaine Kerson. His love, generosity and playfulness will remain in their hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Central Park Conservancy, a setting dear to Robert's heart. Your gift will help preserve and care for the Park, a place that meant so much to him.
He will be deeply missed but will live on in our hearts and minds.
A memorial gathering & service for Robert will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Frank E. Campbell - The Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Ave, New York, New York 10028.
