Happy Birthday, dearest Bob!
Remembering you with love and how you never forgot a birthday!

I think of Bob at our Sunday morning breakfasts in Southampton, with the papers and coffee and the sweet rolls he enjoyed so much.  Bob was always a pleasure to be with, an amiable companion  and a good friend.  I miss him.

About Bob: 
He was born in New York City, and grew up in Waterbury, CT. After receiving his BA in Architecture from The Rhode Island School of Design, he taught at UT Austin, RISD and Connecticut College. But he never stopped learning.
Before starting his own firm in 1969, he worked with Eero Saarinen Associates, John Carl Warnecke, and Curtis and Davis, Architects.
His clients included Siemens, Singapore Land, Ltd., Hanes Hosiery, Wells Rich & Greene Inc., and International Management Group. He also completed several residential projects in the NYC area.
He was a member of the AIA, the Connecticut Society of Architects, and the NCARB and was licensed to practice in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.
Bob will be greatly missed by his many good friends.


About a week or ago, I kept thinking about Bob, because I haven't seen in years, since I left Manhattan.  Something was telling me to call.  As a result, here I am reading his obituary.
I hope souls meet again.

Bob-o told me to move to Essex ct so he would have a mid state place to visit in between his parents house , where his mother did his laundry and baked him pound cakes,, in waterbury and his office in Norwich  ct
So I did
He was my oldest and dearest friend

Clinton House was my first major construction project and Bob was my mentor and client. One of my favorite quotes just after we finished the demo phase was " maybe I went too far" As a team we realized Bob & Tara's designs and many special one of kind details making this a true "labor of love" 
Bob counseled me with all aspects of Architecture and provided the foundation of how to manage a construction project.
I will always remember Bob's love for architectural design,  F1 car racing and his generosity.
I'm planning to plant a tree in Bob's memory at Clinton House in the spring of 2023.

My dear Bob - we were companions and partners for 10 years. We found and renovated the Clinton house together - we buried my first dog by the pond. We laid the tile in the bathroom, rescued my cat from a tree, celebrated New Year’s with friends and had weekly dinners. We worked, played and traveled the world. My life has been forever changed by our long association. After we went our separate ways we still talked - Bob came to PA when I fell of my horse and could not get around well. He fixed my shower and helped me organize. I am the vagabond and we saw each other all over the US. Bob was a true friend whom I miss every day. Rest In Peace. You are loved. 💕❤️ T

Bob, or as my children called him, UncaBob, loomed large in my life and that of my family from 1968, when we first met in NY.  

Bob had the biggest, kindest and enduringly cheerful heart. His curiosity about life, art, architecture,  history, and travel knew no bounds. We bonded over sharing stories with laughter and love, and an occasional good meal.

Bob was someone I turned to when life was good and when things were challenging, just as he knew I was always there for him.

You are no longer physically with us, but you live on within us. I am certain that many are grateful to have had his friendship. 

Rest in Peace, dearest Bob, until we meet again.

Bob was such a good man.   When Bob and Tina came to visit Jill and me, Bob and I shared our Sunday morning breakfasts together, along with the papers, our views of the day’s doings, and our fondness for the strong coffee and the sweet muffins.  Bob was a comfort to be with and a like-minded friend.  I miss him….
