He had just celebrated his 86th birthday. He was a proud graduate of St. Vincent Ferrer School and St. Augustine High School, both in Flatbush where he made his wonderful group of lifelong friends. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1958 and joined the Marine Reserves while pursuing a career in sales.
Bob married Barbara J. Lomusch on May 11, 1963 and they raised their three daughters in St. Sebastian's parish of Woodside, Queens before retiring to Yorkville.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara and 3 daughters, Judy and her husband Jim Dickson of Glen Rock, NJ; Jeanne and her husband Ted Burbage of Bronxville, NY and Rosemary Martin of New York City, NY. He was an adored grandfather to Conor, Brendan, Scott and Kyle.
Bob is predeceased by his dear brother, William “Bill” Martin, sister-in-law Dorothy Martin and nephew Billy Martin. He is survived by many nieces and nephews including Kathy Martin Devine, Patty and Paul DeMarco and John and Dorothea Martin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, February 10th at St. Joseph’s Church, Yorkville. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Woodside. Visiting is Wednesday, February 9th from 3:00 to 6:30pm at Chas. Peter Nagel Funeral Directors, 352 E. 87th St. NY, NY.
