Dear Virginia, I was very sad when I came upon this memo about Ronnie. He was a true friend, honest, loyal and a mans man. I was aware he was a NYC employee and was a well traveled man. He always loved looking at travel books and deciding upon where he would take his next vacation. We attended Saint Patrick's and Long Island CITY H.S. together. I believe your father was a postal employee and I am unsure if your mom was employed or a homemaker.  Ronnie, you were a peace loving, intelligent man who if I can recall was related to Joseph DiSalvo. Rest in peace Ronnie because the mark you left upon my life and the lives of others will not fade. Enjoyed Ron’s company at my aunt and uncle-in laws at Landsdowne Woods drinking coffee. His humor and stories were enlightening 

I've known Ron since we were part of the St. Patrick's (LIC, NY) Singles Club.  We enjoyed Howie's Great Pumpkin Hunter parties and many other activities.  After he moved to Virginia, we exchanged e-mails and kept up with any news of the group.  Though I haven't seen him for a few years, I will certainly miss a good friend.

I always enjoyed seeing uncle Ron as I felt better about things in life after hearing his perspective. He gave me a sense of calm and I looked up to him. We were often the ones sharing red wine at family gatherings and I could always fill his glass. I will miss his hospitality, generosity and courage. As a fellow New Yorker, he reminded me of the city which I enjoyed. I was happy to see him more often when he moved to more spacious Virginia. Uncle Ron’s spirit will always be with me.
