Ronald Stern passed away peacefully at his home in Manhattan on August 23rd. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Elissa, loving grandfather to Sophie and Adam, and father-in-law to Joe.
He was born in the Bronx to Hungarian immigrant parents, along with his younger brother, Gary, who predeceased him. He graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School. Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree from Baruch College where he majored in advertising. He wrote and produced on-air promotion for the CBS Television Network. Ronald worked for CBS for 48 years. He enjoyed visiting and traveling with his family, the Times crossword puzzle, sports and the outdoors. He will always be remembered for his kindness and deep love for his family.
