Rosemarie Salvatore

January 2, 1947April 15, 2021

Rosemarie Salvatore passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. Originally diagnosed in 2016, she fought valiantly and never lost her boundless positive energy. Rosemarie had many wonderful experiences with family and friends, and she carried that spirit through the challenges of the last 5 years. Rosemarie is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, Lou; her three children – Louis (Jeanine), Dawn (Rick) and Rob (Steph); and the light of her life, her three grandsons – Alex, Ryan and Jake. To those who knew Rosemarie, she was the Energizer Bunny or Rosie in Charge. These names accurately capture her non-stop energy and can-do attitude. She left her career on Wall Street with the birth of her first child and devoted every minute to her family and the people and organizations in her life. She was ever present at her children’s schools. Her strong Catholic faith made her an integral part of the many parishes to which she belonged over the years. When the kids got older and graduated from school, Rosemarie devoted her efforts to many community based and religious not-for-profit organizations, taking great pride in her charitable work. Rosemarie will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. Funeral services will be private in this time of the Covid pandemic. Contributions in Rosemarie’s memory can be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center for breast cancer research

I was truly blessed to have Roe as not only my cousin but also my godmother. She never forgot me during holidays & I always felt her love even though we didn't see one another often.

She was filled with love & kindness yet showed so much strength. Roe adored my Mom & I feel comforted knowing that they are reunited hopefully sharing some good laughs & stories.

Dear Lou and family,
It was a very special privilege to be able to read that wonderful passage from Saint Paul to the Romans at Rosemarie's funeral this morning.

In addition to working with Rosemarie for many years as a Communion minister, we frequently joined in the ad hoc church cleanings that Fr. Schueller used to organize. On one of those evenings she tried to use the parish vacuum cleaner, without success. So, she went home to get yours. She got some odd stares as she wheeled it down 76th Street. And with that wonderful, impish twinkle, she told me that if someone looked too much askance at her she just said "I'm taking it for a walk." For me, that encapsulates Rosemarie.

It was truly a blessing to know her and I am so sorry that she has left us so soon. We are the same age. I will miss her deeply.

I have a lifetime of memories with my cousin. who was more like a sister to me We both, for part of our lives, lived with our Nana, Pop-Pop and Uncle Emil. She was the kindest,, generous, upbeat,,honest and with the biggest heart of anyone I’ve known. She loved life, and cherished her family and friends, I remember how excited I was when she asked me to be in her bridal party and honored when asked to be Dawn’s Godmother I will treasure my many memories of our family get togethers (Christmas celebrations, birthdays, weddings, Christmas in July as well as the times I got to spend alone with her, I feel truly blessed to have had Peaches in my life. and I will miss her. I know she is in Heaven and at peace. Love ,you forever , Linda

Mrs. Salvatore will always be a part of my special memories down the Jersey Shore in the late 1990s....from the Mac Daddy house to the Chicken and the Egg. She and Mr. Salvatore were there as we shared some special post business school years developing our friendships and letting loose. She was an amazing woman, always had a smile and a lesson for us to learn, and was just simply one of the crew. We will miss her dearly but she will live on in our hearts forever.

I did not know Rosemarie, but I know the loss you feel with her passing. My wife, Bernice, also passed from cancer in 2011. I pray God will give you and your family comfort in knowing that He has a plan for all of us and His plans are good and trustworthy.
