Seth was a lifelong professional horseman who worked in a multitude of equestrian pursuits. Most recently, Seth was an international award-winning farrier (specialized craftsman who shoes horses’ hooves). In the years that preceded this work, among other things, Seth rode and trained hunters, jumpers, dressage and 3-day event horses; broke and galloped racehorses at renowned tracks; managed horse barns and stables; and worked closely with lauded horsemen and women throughout the United States and Europe. Seth also competed in professional bull riding for over a decade. As is commonplace in the equestrian field, Seth traveled and lived throughout the Unites States ‘wherever the horses were’. His travels found him living for many years in some of the Country’s most beautiful locations, including Wyoming, Montana and horse-country Virginia. He wrote wonderful poetry and song lyrics that captured the life he’d chosen. All of this from a boy born in 1959 in Great Neck, New York. Even though Seth graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Rochester in 1982, there was never the possibility that Seth was going to conform his life to the standard pursuits, and once he dedicated himself to the equestrian life, he never turned back. As befits one of the last cowboy-dreamers, Seth enjoyed living an itinerant and often solitary life while he roamed the Country in search of his next adventure. Seth felt most comfortable living on the edge; and it’s ironic that he passed away quietly in his home surrounded by his two beloved Australian Shepherds, Dart and Raven, who already have a loving home, and that would be the most important thing that Seth would want to know now.
