Simon Herling, aged 79 years old, died peacefully on June 27th, 2024 in his home on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. He was born March 23rd, 1945 in Liepzig, Germany to Fela and Samuel Herling. Miraculously, Simon was one of the few hundred children to have ever been born in a concentration camp. After four years in a displaced persons camp, the Herling family immigrated and found solace on the Upper West Side. As an example of the American dream, he graduated from Hunter College and the University of Toledo Law School. He eventually became a partner at his law firm Paganini & Herling where he practiced until his retirement. Simon remained honest, funny, smart, humble, generous, outgoing and joyful until his last day. Simon was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeanne, and his children, Samantha and Steven. His life was a blessing and his memory will also be a blessing.
