Ann de la Fuente Garza

Ann De La Fuente Garza left us peacefully and went home to be with the Lord Jesus on January 17, 2023. Ann (aka Anita and Annie) was born in Falfurrias, Texas on August 5, 1923 to Francisco De La Fuente and Maria Jones De La Fuente. She passed away just 7 months shy of her 100th birthday which she was excitedly planning to celebrate in her usual party fashion. Ann worked as a manager in women’s retail clothing for more than 50 years both in TX and CA. She lived with a vibrant zest for life and enjoyed it to the fullest until her recent decline in health. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years Joseph A. Garza, Sr. and her grandson Jonathan P. Tatone. Her siblings MJ De La Fuente, Joe De La Fuente, Jospehine Ornelas, Frank De La Fuente and Mary Stansel She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Garza-Stewart (William) and her son Joseph A. Garza, Jr. (Dawn). Her grandchildren Nicholas S. Tatone and Amanda M. Benkovic and one remaining sibling, sister Delia Robles. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews as well as the many, many friends she met throughout her long life. Funeral services will be private The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception and all the staff members at Mother Gertrude Home for their committed and extra special care of our mother. Also, to Provident Trinity Palliative Care and Hospice who both shared in the kind and attentive care of our mother throughout the months before her passing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the assisted living where our mother was beautifully and lovingly cared for the final years of life.
