

Annette Yvonne Boyd entered this world as a special New Year’s baby, January 1, 1949 at Harlem Hospital in New York City to her loving parents Yetta Jones-Cherry and Richard Jenkins. She was the third of their five children.
Annette attended school in the NYC School system through High School where she excelled. She believed in giving back to her community and she volunteered at the Kennedy Community Center. This is where she developed her passion for modern dance and synchronized swimming. Annette recently achieved a personal goal by graduating from the University of Pheonix with her BS in Nursing.
Annette began her professional career at MONY an Insurance Company. She later graduated from the Harlem School of Nursing in 1975. She worked at Harlem Hospital as an ICU nurse until 1982 when she, her husband and their two children set off on a journey cross- country to southern California.
Once in southern California she began her career at Kaiser Permanente. She worked in the ICU, as the Apache Coordinator and in the Recovery Room. She retired from Kaiser, May 2011 after having a 30 year successful career.
Annette had many outside interest. The one interest that anyone who knew her benefitted from was her love of cooking. She had every kitchen gadget known to man. Her home and her heart were always open for visitors. If you were a friend to Annette you were family. Her kindness, willingness to give of herself and love of people touched many lives and left a long lasting impression.
Annette leaves behind her husband Earl whom s he loved dearly, her three children, LaShai, Troy and Christopher. 4 Grandchildren, Ayanna, Kaylah, Kaleiyah and Bryce. Her mother, Yetta Cherry, 2 sisters Brenda and Karen. 2 Brothers Freddie and Richard and a plethora of extended family and friends.
