It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anthony “Tony” Anderson, a beloved husband, stepfather grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on March 13, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born to Howard and Madeline Anderson in Los Angeles, California, Tony was a star baseball player in his youth and an avid hunter who loved the outdoors. On week-long hunting trips in the wide open country of Montana and Wyoming with his father and his father’s friends, he became known for his incredibly accurate shot, often bringing in game before anyone else. He was a bright student who earned straight A’s in high school while still convincing his mother to call him out of school once a week — a reflection of both his intelligence and his independent spirit. He went on to graduate from the University of California, Los Angeles with a degree in Engineering, where he was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. His education helped shape the way he saw the world — practical, analytical, and always thinking long-term.
A firm believer in working smarter, not harder, Tony was a wise investor and disciplined thinker who understood the value of patience, timing, and long-term decision-making. He had a natural understanding of odds, risk, and strategy, whether he was investing or sitting at a poker table.
Though he was never one to spend money on himself, he was always generous when it came to his wife and family, and through his hard work he built a legacy that created opportunities for future generations. He enjoyed the simple things in life: a chocolate donut in the morning, time spent in his woodshop, a good Porterhouse steak, finding a good sale, and the simple comfort of his wife’s home-cooked meals. He valued peace, independence, and solitude.
He was a man of quiet strength, steady character, and practical wisdom. He led by example: think long-term, stay disciplined, be independent, take care of your loved ones, and do not be afraid to take calculated risks in life.
His family will forever cherish the many holidays spent at the home he built in Tehachapi, where the kids raced around the yard, laughter filled the air, and time seemed to slow down.
Tony will be remembered for his wisdom, practicality, and generosity, and for the life he built and provided for his family. The family finds comfort in knowing he lived a full life on his own terms and leaves behind a family who loved him deeply. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
